Recommended Total Allowable Error Limits
Sun Diagnostics has compiled this list of Total Allowable Error (TEa) recommendations for a variety of laboratory tests as defined by CLIA and other expert groups. This list is intended for reference only. Laboratories are responsible for setting their own performance criteria. Total Allowable Error is a quality requirement that sets a limit for combined imprecision (random error) and bias (inaccuracy, or systematic error) that are tolerable in a single measurement or single test result to insure clinical usefulness.
Note: Some of the total allowable error (TEa) recommendations came from secondary sources and we were unable to confirm accuracy.
