Sun Diagnostics simplifies interference testing with the ASSURANCE™ product line. We are pleased to announce an important change to improve the performance of lipemia testing with our triglyceride-rich lipoprotein material (INT-01T). Lipemia is best assessed with human triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, primarily chylomicrons, but to stabilize lipoproteins and maintain structure and integrity the material we add sucrose and sodium chloride. Unfortunately, the presence of sucrose and sodium chloride may affect glucose and electrolyte test results. To resolve this issue, we will now include a control solution that contains the same concentration of sucrose and sodium chloride as INT-01T. Any differences in results between the test and control pools can be attributed specifically to triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and not matrix differences.
We appreciate your support and will continue to look for ways to simplify and improve interference testing.
